Benefits and opportunities at TD Bank that we think you’ll love.

TD Bank employees receive a plethora of benefits and opportunities.

Take, for example, the company’s Personal Performance and Development Process, which helps each person identify their own unique development goals and career aspirations and sets up an action plan to achieve them. Employees are assigned a People Manager who sticks with them throughout the process, providing support and resources along the way.

“We want all of our people to achieve both their short- and long-term career goals, and your manager will champion your growth by providing knowledge of the Personal Performance and Development process, and the tools and resources available; clarity around accountabilities, objectives and performance expectations; a ‘clear line of sight’ between your contributions and the success of the organization as a whole; regular and balanced performance feedback, both formal and informal; and access to on-the-job experiences and opportunities.”

This is on top of benefits like paid time off for vacation, 16 weeks of parental leave and comprehensive benefit options including a $25,000 lifetime IVF treatment maximum for budding families. TD also offers employees flexible working arrangements.

“We know that balancing the needs of work and home can be incredibly challenging,” the company tells Fairygodboss. “We also recognize how important finding the right balance is for our employees. That’s why we strive to provide our employees with a variety of work options to suit their lifestyle needs today, tomorrow and in the future. “We’re committed to finding, building and nurturing talent from people of all backgrounds,” TD says. “We seek to foster a diverse and inclusive culture, from offering internships and mentorship programs to recruiting diverse talent.”

TD is committed to sustainably increasing the leadership representation of women from all backgrounds. To do so, the company notes that they “must be fully fluent with the cultural complexity that fosters inequities, including how race, sexuality and other dimensions of identity can shape the experiences of different women.”

“We are championing forward-thinking programs and principals for all TD colleagues, and expanding leadership opportunities for women is essential in order to develop great leaders and advance our business,” the bank explains. “At TD, women have access to valuable learning experiences, ongoing support for career goals and a powerful network of like-minded colleagues.”

The continued success of their business allows for a wide variety of career paths and advancement opportunities. Mutual respect, encouragement and world-class training are all part of TD’s progressive culture.

Here are a few of TD’s programs and initiatives that are aimed to support women in the workplace:

  • TD’s Women in Leadership (WIL) Network is their largest employee network, with more than 14,000 women across North America and a focus on gender balance and career development.

  • WIL Circles Program — Circles is a place for women and allies to be unapologetically ambitious about their careers. By attending monthly meetings with thoughtfully selected topics and content, participants can share ideas, gain skills, seek advice and show solidarity, all in a safe space. Participants are asked to bring their best selves to the group – be open, present and an active participant and listener.

  • WIL Allies Program — The Allies Program is geared toward training executive leaders on methods of advocating for women in the workplace, diversifying TD talent and ensuring that their culture is conducive to the advancement of women across all LOBs and areas of focus.

  • WIL Virtual Series — The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way women work, parent and care for themselves and their communities.  The WIL Business Resource Group hosts these virtual sessions focused on issues affecting women across the industry. Each session is led by WIL members who share their expertise and own career experiences.

  • WIL Power Bites – These 20-minute action packed sessions on topics requested by WIL members and allies are hosted monthly and feature in-house experts that provide "snackable" skill-building tips, tools and resources.

At TD, they strongly believe in giving back too, which is why they sponsor development programs for women and support organizations that make a difference. As TD puts it, “It feels good knowing that the work we do has a positive effect on the lives of our customers. TD will empower you to apply your expertise to drive change in the community. We all have things that we are passionate about. At TD, we value and support our people to contribute in ways that align with their passions.”

For the fifth year in a row TD was included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index in 2021, a measure reflecting internal company statistics, employee policies, external community support and engagement, and gender-conscious product offerings. TD was also named among the Forbes Best Employers for Diversity for the third year in a row, recognized as a DiversityInc Top Company for Diversity for nine consecutive years, and ranked No. 15 in the global “Top 25 Most Diverse & Inclusive Companies” in the 2021 Refinitiv Diversity & Inclusion Index.
