In my role here at Fairygodboss, I read a lot of career advice. Really, I read so much career advice that lots of it starts to run together — speak more this, apply more that. But Priyanka Chopra Jonas' latest insights into career success are unique to much of what's said today. So unique that I wanted to write about it, as you can see here.

In a recent conversation with INSIDER to promote one of her many side gigs, her partnership with networking app Bumble Bizz, Chopra Jonas shared how she makes sure her career lands on its metaphorical feet. While we may read about the benefits of having tunnel vision on our goals or setting one solid and true plan to get what we want, the actress/humanitarian/businesswoman thinks career success requires more flexibility.

"I'm always a believer of never having just one plan. Don't ever put all your eggs in one basket," she said. "I'm a believer of having at least a plan A, a plan B, and a plan C whenever I make career strides so that if one doesn't work out, I always have something else to fall back on."

She continued: "And by that, I don't mean career choices, I mean ways to get to your destination.. It shouldn't just be the one plan that I'm going to apply to this one place and if I get the job it'll be great... People put too much pressure on one opportunity. You have to create various opportunities for yourself."

So, next time you're laboring over that one job application or pinning your career success on a single presentation, remind yourself this is just one way to reach your goals — and maybe dedicate time to finding another path to your best you.
