Global Atlantic Financial Group is a leader in the U.S. life insurance and annuity industry. The company serves the needs of both individuals and institutions alike with differentiated investment and risk-management capabilities, deep client relationships and a strong financial foundation. Global Atlantic is also a majority-owned subsidiary of KKR, a leading global investment firm that offers alternative asset management across multiple strategies and capital markets solutions.

This means that Global Atlantic is able to offer their employees the unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment — with a financial foundation rooted in industry knowledge, experience and credibility — while still having their own entrepreneurial culture that encourages employees to pursue their passions.

Global Atlantic’s culture starts with their values, the company tells Fairygodboss. That means hiring the right people and building the right relationships, all while working together and understanding the company’s products and the importance of delivering on their promises to customers.

“These values are the foundation of how we work, providing an environment where everyone has the potential to create an impact on the success of the company,” Global Atlantic explains. To learn more about this culture — where you can make a true difference — as well as the great benefits at the company, read on!

A focus on inclusion and growth.

“Great things happen when you harness the power of different perspectives and ideas in a diverse and inclusive workplace,” Global Atlantic says. From employee-led resource groups (the Women’s Business Network, Asian Business Network, Black Business Network and Pride Business Network), to conscious consideration in their recruiting process, to their CEO’s pledge to reinforce a commitment to open dialogue and tackling unconscious bias, Global Atlantic embraces a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.

To place a greater focus on recruiting diverse talent, Global Atlantic has even hired a new diversity recruitment engagement manager who sources talented candidates, and they have created an Inclusion Hiring Toolkit to continue growing a diverse pipeline.

Once new members are onboarded, however, the support doesn’t stop there.

“Global Atlantic provides various opportunities for employees of all levels to receive coaching,” the company adds. “When onboarding senior leaders at GA, we provide a coach to assist them with their transition into the organization.”

With a video coaching platform, called EZRA, leaders at different levels can select their own coach and meet regularly with them for six months. Global Atlantic also participates in coaching for short-term engagements following a 360-feedback assessment to debrief employee feedback and develop action plans.

“All coaching GA offers is strictly for development purposes, is confidential in nature, and is not in any way affiliated with the performance management process,” the company assures Fairygodboss.

And, speaking of performance management, Global Atlantic also takes pride in their processes.  “We believe in an iterative process that includes ongoing dialogue regarding performance against objectives as well as our company values,” the company explains. “We also encourage individual development plans and have a host of resources available to all employees to build custom plans via our learning management platform.”

Employees at Global Atlantic truly feel this culture of inclusion, and actively try to address biases in the workplace, as seen in quotes from International Women’s Day.

At Global Atlantic, leaders believe in investing in talent with annual talent reviews that also leave room for discussing people’s plans — including their individual strengths, critical skill gaps and unique needs that may or may not be covered by the exhaustive list of benefits available to them. We’ll discuss these benefits next!
