I've experienced that too. Once the person I was supposed to meet never even showed up. I was kept waiting until the receptionist "could find someone to meet with" me. An older gentleman finally summoned me to his office, shows me in and says "Tell me about yourself." No handshake (pre-pandemic) or introduction. I responded, "My name is Jennifer Finger, I'm here to apply for an accounting job and I don't believe we've been introduced." I offered my hand and he gave me a limp handshake. He asked me a few questions, than shooed me out. Nobody apologized for that lousy experience.

That was kind of rude, I'm sorry this happened to you.

I had this happen to me but not with a recruiter but with a company. Granted my time is valuable and so is yours. Try to take in consideration that many are understaffed right now and their workload had doubled if not tripled. There are so many out of work right now that I don't know how they're keeping up.

I totally understand that, and that's why I'm always sympathetic and never complain. Anyway I think a quick message to let me know that you will be late goes a long way. Keeping someone waiting on the other hand is kind of rude.

I totally agree and I know how you feel. I had another company do the same thing to me. I figured they weren't going to call. He did apologize when he did call but it's a bit deflating at best.
