Where do I start?
I'd started with a company in 2015 and his Client list was actually in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.
Fast forward 2 years - 70+ hours EVERY week, I automated the entire business. Then, much to my suprise, due to unforseen financial issues, I was laid off by the recommendation of an Attorney he'd hired (he had IRS issues).
Just under a year later, he called me back and asked if I'd be interested in coming back. We negotiated a fair compensation and some perks (gas, cell phone etc...)....
All of a sudden, I'm not only doing what I had done but in addition, all Social Media Marketing, a Friday newsletter turned into Saturday nights (to be scheduled for next morning) and in turn updating all Social Media and Website. On a POSITIVE note - I'm now an intermediate user in WordPress - Devopeloped so many different system integrations that I'd never had the opportunity if I'd not gone back.
So here's the problem.
He hired someone (part-time) who happened to be collecting unemployment while making $ under the table - OK, not my business.
Within a 3 month timeframe, I am now working from home (which is overrated) - She's taken over my office, broke a few of my things and downright is SO disrespectful I cannot even begin to tell you. I have text messages that drop F bombs (unwarranted) and SO MUCH MORE.
Another co-worker showed me something she'd written to him and the President of the company....
Stating all I did was "BS all day and complain about my paycheck" - First off, I WORK HARD and the only conversations I have at work is WORK. President of company knows this because, as mentioned, I'd already been there long enough for him to know my habits and "chatting" wasn't one of them.
Talking about my paycheck? I wouldn't talk to her about it #1 - And it's an amount that I CHOSE, again, the President of the company knows this too.
Fast forward to End of Year reporting - I came to the realization that she is using an excel spreadsheet using a CALCULATOR! I thought this was a mistake, but it's not. What she does all day is 3 things I did "when I got around to it) - Payroll being the #1 thing LOL - She went on to comment how unorganized some of the filing was - Well, I was too busy implementing systems to worry about alphabetizing paperwork.
Now she's apparently "the boss" of the guys in the field (around 9) - She doesn't have any management background, knows nothing about the business (construction) and has the nerve to talk down to me?
First I think, it's got to be his "girlfriend" because that's all that would make any sense to me....But even then, not only is it not my business, it'd make me sick.
Everything tells me to get out - But I'm PISSED.
I have put in so much time and effort into this place to let someone like her get under my skin (how I've remained professional is truthfully mind blowing)....
I have a meeting with the Boss tomorrow and I'm telling you. I don't even know where to begin. I'm actually held accountable for EVERYTHING I do - It's a forever growing "to do" list and I could easily fill 2 full time assistant positions to help me and I'd still be at 60 hours.....I'm fine with time management it's just A LOT of work. I'm working ALL THE TIME.....
In this industry, we're just getting ready to hit our busy season and I can't do this anymore.
I believe in teamwork. I have worked so hard for this company, one would think I'd be moving up instead of a brand new person that doesn't know the difference between drywall and concrete for the love of GOD.
I know I should just leave - But my pride is shattered and I'm just so pissed off at the entire situation.....
Most of this if obviously a venting session (ie: therapy) but seriously, I need to make sure it's not me making a mountain out of nothing....well...I know I'm not.
What would you do?
Yes, move on........
