I was let go from my job last week and I have to say that I am terrified about finding employment in the current economic climate. Has anyone had any success recently?

I changed my job in Nov last year. but I understand your fear. It took me so many months of applying, connecting with recruiters, appearing for virtual or in-person interviews etc. but at the end it was all worth it. All I'll say is search/apply with confidence and have faith that the best will come your way. All the very best!

Have patience and pray I was out of work for 7 months and the same company called me back. I asked if I could work from home. The answer was no than 2 months later on my way to work the call came asking me to work from home. I went on interviews with no success. I stayed positive. And now I got what I wanted all along. I hope this help you. Put your resume out there, and go on interviews and do your best. Sometimes the universe tests us. Stay on fairygodboss read everything on this platform . Women for women.

It really depends on your industry. Some are really flooded with job seekers. I've been unemployed for 9 months, but not losing hope just yet.

Hi Brooke! I understand where you're coming from. Companies are definitely still hiring. Some industries are actually growing during the pandemic due to demand and how things are shifting.
While it's true that there's a lot of competition for jobs right now, jobs are being filled. Here are three things to keep in mind:
1. Be open to expanding your search beyond roles you might normally apply to (those you are qualified for)
2. Enlist help if necessary to ensure you are presenting as a top candidate
3. Remember that employers need your talent and experience just as much as you need a paycheck. Don't go after just any job because you're afraid you can't get what you want :)
Peace.
