From time to time, everyone experiences situations that affect their general wellbeing. White & Case recognizes this and provides free confidential access to the 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to help you be more successful at meeting your responsibilities at home and at work. The EAP provides access to practical information and counseling on a variety of topics and can be used by you and those close to you, such as your partner or family members. This program is completely independent of the Firm and no one at the Firm will know if you have used this service unless you choose to disclose your usage.
All employees have many opportunities to maintain and improve their health through a comprehensive program of activities and educational opportunities that are offered throughout the year, such as onsite health screenings and fitness/weight loss counseling. Our interactive e-health portal provides health and nutrition tracking, exercise trackers and more.
we have 26 local women's networks with engagement in 40 of our offices around the world. They:
Help our women professionals develop the knowledge, skill and experience required for success at the Firm, including client management and business development skills
Provide exposure to role models, both men and women, from inside and outside the Firm
Provide opportunities to connect with our clients and the broader legal community
Connect our women around the world
Each of our larger offices sponsors or hosts several events annually, which include client events.
In addition, we broadcast periodic video-conferences across multiple offices, which feature interviews, presentations or panel events led by lawyers, business services professionals, outside experts or clients.
members of the Global Women's Initiative Committee monitor how individual women are performing and engage in discussions with Firm leaders about their progress. Committee members stay informed of trends in the retention, performance and development needs of women professionals. Our top priority is continuing to ensure that talented women are retained, advanced and given leadership opportunities.
in the US we offer mentoring circle programs that are being explored for adoption by several other offices around the world. Each mentoring circle connects partners with small groups of women associates. This program has directly impacted the development, retention and engagement of our women associates and offers the chance for the partner mentors to guide our more junior women lawyers on their path to success.
Careers can last forty years or more. We seek to provide the career flexibility our people need. We have a full range of programs to support flexible work schedules and leaves of absence for both men and women. These programs include part-time and flexible work arrangement policies, as well as coaching to prepare people for, and return from, leaves of absence. We continue to monitor the effectiveness of these programs in meeting the needs of our lawyers and staff.
