It's an old boys club for the most part, depending on the department. Factory culture for most areas but HR, IT, accounting offer growth opportunities.

I think all genders are treated fairly here, but things like transparency and compensation are sorely lacking.

January 2017

Its not amazing but better than most. Best suits younger people as they really stress the "fun" work atmosphere typical of startups/tech companies so think more happy hours and less sympathy or positive assumptions about leaving work to see your kids instead.

Not a good place to work if you are looking to start a family. A good place for your first job to get good sales experience-then leave.

Think long and hard about it. They are not a great company overall and even worse towards women. It was an old boys club where much of the work relationship is built during in office drinking leading to come ons and harassment. Older women are often pegged as "crazy" and "irrational", younger women are encouraged to be "one of the guys" there is no sounds policies and a lot of gossip and politics.

This is a fast paced environment with plenty of room to grow. You will need to prove yourself though. Not very family friendly but perhaps there is wiggle room depending on which org you roll under.

December 2015

Bose has lots of women in mid-level, but not upper, management. Their technology teams are mostly comprised of men, but all team members seem to be treated equal and fairly. As a company, they are behind in offering more modern benefits however. To my knowledge, there is no paternal leave and maternity leave is bare minimum. As a company in the suburbs, they will need to do a lot more to attract good talent over the next decade.

Top leadership is supportive of efforts to create a more supportive work environment, but there are some old guard managers who need to be brought along.
