Run run run away- Due to the culture of the Greeks that founded and run this company+the typical old-boys-club, I would not recommend this company for women, especially working mothers.

This is a very female-dominated agency which can be typical for the PR industry. It was one of the few places I've ever worked which is the case though, so there were no issues with gender discrimination or typical issues I'd experienced in the past. The people are truly great and the management is often able to re-arrange their schedule and be available for their children - the president works remote in Ohio. Work-life balance depends on the campaigns and clients. If it is a busy time, you'll be working long hours. If you are a member of junior staff, you will be working long hours regularly, however that is pretty standard for the PR industry.

It's a boys club that you'll never be a part of, as long as you can deal with that you'll be fine. There are very few executives that are Women, and those that are have been with the company for a long time. It can be frustrating a times, but they are a company that is loyal to their employees and there is a lot of opportunity... you just have to work really hard for it.

Academia is quite nice to women on maternity leave. The standards of performance is quite meritocratic as outcomes are observable. Academia is a great place for women except for the most competitive top.
