It is a technology company and there are more men than women at all levels but it is a start-up and so they have not devoted any time to ensuring there is a balance - yet.

If you're a woman this is probably not the company you want to work for. The higher ups discriminate heavily and the sexual harassment is worse than anywhere I have ever worked.

This is a good entry level job for someone looking to get their foot in the door in higher education. That being said, there is minimal room for upward mobility or promotion.

It's a great job for flexibility and stability. You get taken to meals multiple times a year and you get Christmas and Birthday gifts. You are appreciated. Unfortunately, that does not translate to benefits, raises, or bonuses.

The top leadership positions have traditionally been held by men. I feel I must be assertive about gender issues that escape the notice or understanding of male top leadership. While gender balance exists for senior management, the top decision making positions and top earners are 75% held by men.

Management is overwhelmingly white male. There are a number of female hires coming in, but they are all in lower and mid-level positions. Paternity leave is unlimited and used frequently (all PTO is "unlimited"). No one has taken maternity leave yet.

February 2016

Women are pushed into these positions strictly because the company wants "friendly" aka pretty faces to sit at the desk. There were often male clients who took advantage of the women at the front by lingering and pushing the bounds of professional conversation (with winks and compliments) and management did not pursue any action to change this dynamic.

Very people driven and they care about their employees, in particular women. They provide very flexible benefits and leave.

November 2015

The experience will likely differ from location to location, but my experience was pretty miserable. Despite having a 50/50 women to men ratio, there were no women in any of the higher positions. My male peers consistently treated me as an underling rather than an equal. Office conversations usually revolved around degrading women.
