Overall a great company to work for. Especially if you are good at kissing ass and/or find a good female mentor here.

Double standard when it comes to staff v. employees. Flex schedule "offered" to staff, but approval requires too many hoops and is ultimately discouraged.

I had to save up my PTO for maternity leave; there was no 'separate' leave time.

November 2017

As an organization designed to advance/advocate for women, it walks its talk much of the time, but could do a better job of investing in its staff and helping them develop skills to be successful in the organization and beyond.

February 2016

I have worked here for five years. The company has around a 20 / 80 split women to men. There are many more women in marketing and support functions with a few sprinkled in sales and engineering. The environment encourages a lot of backstabbing and cur throat behavior. Work / life balance is virtually zero, there are now layoffs and the future is uncertain due to the upcoming acquisition by Dell.

I've worked first at Penguin and now at PRH for close to 7 years. It's a relatively family-friendly company. They offer solid healthcare and leave benefits, and they were quick to recognize domestic partners as beneficiaries years before marriage equality. I think opportunities for advancement vary depending on the area of the business.

December 2015

I was the first woman hire here and I was hired here when I was 33 weeks pregnant and given 14 weeks paid maternity leave. I think that says a lot about the leadership at this company. They recognize the need to diversify the company and we now have four women on the team. There is a lot of room to improve in this area but we are moving down the right path and aware.

October 2015

When I started with them, they were Alegent Health. CHI Health took over & centralized benefits. The people who answer the questions about benefits don't even have them nor do they work for the company - it went downhill after the merger.
