Water.org is a culture friendly, equal opportunity organization with professional growth opportunities galore. With skills development comes rewards - flexible schedules, autonomy to make decisions, and not mention changing lives for those without access to water and sanitation. We receive fair pay for performance/ and skills development that reinforce our culture and organizational mission of solving the world's water crisis in developing countries.

Very outdated mentality from many of the senior men there.

The company policy offers decent flexibility with fex time and work from home options, but the actual culture penalizes employees who exersice these options.

Great for women, not necessarily great for people in general! My particular branch has had management issues that affect everyone without discrimination.

It totally depends on your department and role but I have heard anecdotal stories about women being promoted "so that there was a woman on that floor".

They offer 6 weeks paid. Not bad but not up to snuff as they're touted as a younger brand.

They're very flexible with telecommuting, which is great for women to whom a real work-life balance is important.

July 2015

Great company, really cares about your physical as well as your mental health (it was okay to take a "mental health day"). A lot of natural sunlight in a LEED certified building, ergonomic workstations, and generous benefits. Cons, not a lot of female leadership at the top and the ability to climb the ranks internally were terrible (they ended up doing a lot of outside hires instead of hiring from within). In other words, their career ladders and career development was not great at all.
