Capital One is the best job I've ever had. It's incredibly rewarding to work at a place that cares about its Mission, has bold aspirations, is full of smart and talented people -- and, that also enables a great work/life balance (our founder and CEO has eight kids!).

Thy are trying to promote diversity and improve policies to attract/retain women. I believe they do a better job t the junior levels.

Depends on the role and your line of business. Overall, I believe it is a flexible place to work but the need for long hours (or after hours work). Additionally it is predominantly male and not many working mothers in senior level roles.

I have been part of a number of efforts to improve gender diversity at Capital One over the last few years. While there is still a ways to go - especially at more senior levels - I see a strong commitment to making progress on this front.

Most roles and departments offer flexible work arrangements - many of the teams are spread across geographies and connecting over phone or video is a norm.

Great company for work-life balance, bad for career growth. Things are slowly changing for the better, but it will take a while for women to really have the same opportunities as men.

Generally, employees are trusted to work from home when needed and encouraged to take vacations (which are not tracked/limited)

Maybe. The work-life balance is great, so if you're okay with not being promoted at the same rate as men but having the ability to take time for yourself and your family, it's worth it.

Excellent parental leave and family-friendly policies; flexible work schedules; ability to go to part time as needed; more women slowly getting promoted to leadership; maternity leave never been a hinderance to promotion

You'll work with great people and generally have cool projects, but have a thick skin when it comes to reviews and promotion cycles.

Family friendly cultur, but need to be a work horse to get promoted. If you choose to focus on family, you can sustain a reasonable balance at work but would have to give up growth

Capital One Auto Finance respects breastfeeding mothers rights to pump for their babies while at work. They have at least 2 mothers rooms per floor per building. Also, COAF has a free onsite clinic for you and your family if one of you were to get sick.
