The biggest issue with the work environment is that it is primarily made up of a family and there is a lot of nepotism apparent in the day-to-day. There are also a lack of policies in place, since it is a small start-up style company.

Prepare to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as those are the times when most homeowners are available to meet for a solar consultation. The homeowners you meet with are generally terrific and forward thinking individuals who are excited about the possibility to use clean energy for their home but not all homeowners are "sold" on the idea for solar yet and there is a lot of objection handling. High stress sales environment with monthly quota and commissions fluctuating all the time.

I was in an Outside Sales position which means you are able to work from home and travel to appointments or events when you have them. While the position allows for a lot of freedom and flexibility, in order to make quota you need to work around the clock

March 2016

There were a lot of woman working for this company. However, being that it was a clothing company, I feel that upper management wanted to keep the men around and would promote them more frequently. Quite an unfair advantage for them.

February 2016

Company is trying to make company more diverse. While having meeting about women in technology is great if your own company is repeatedly promoting men to VP positions and little to any women every advance, it's called lip service. It's a big boys club of white men who golf. Minorities also don't get promoted either. However, good company for women who want to leave at 5/6 to get home and get their child since it's no longer a start up.

January 2016

The company is predominantly women, which is sets up a lovely and supportive environment. However, men are often given more money for less work and venerated for the sake of being men in a female-dominated industry. I was rewarded for an outstanding year of sales with a purse. There is not much in the way of maternity leave, from my experience with coworkers. Most workers are told they are replaceable and don't contribute enough.

July 2015

It's a great company but don't think they give out equity fairly. I work for one of the turnaround companies and it's a great environment but think women should be able to get equity as it doesn't seem like it's fairly distributed and it seems like it's all men!

June 2015

I have been fortunate to have had a long career here and have generally been treated fairly. There are a lot of women working for the organization but it is difficult to get into senior leadership positions. Management is male-dominated and not diverse which makes it difficult to network with them so those in mid-level management positions don't seem to advance because of that. When they do, it seems those choices are made simply because of diversity requirements and they do not last long in those positions. The insurance world is still an old boys club but it is also a very rewarding business and if you work hard and care about your business you will be rewarded for that. You can set yourself up to have a long career here and things will continue to change for the positive as people retire and new opportunities emerge.
