I am a newer employee, but I have already experienced flexibility and support for me and my family needs. I have also witnessed other women in my department be supported with flexibility and other benefits. I have seen women being promoted at all levels, and in my department, there are multiple female senior leaders.

Company culture has taken a nose-dive in recent years at Schwab. Watching the way they handled lay offs of employees this year was especially terrible. We all understand that lay offs can happen but you don't need to treat people who have worked at your company for years like literal garbage when you throw them out the door. Don't take a job at Schwab if you want employment stability or support.

Now they give six weeks after employees complained for years and Schwab started losing employees because of their poor benefits. Before it was 0 weeks paid leave and you were told to just have your baby while on sabbatical if you wanted paid leave. As if getting pregnant on a dime is that easy for folks.

I couldn't adjust my schedule for my kids schedule. And when I had to leave early to pick up a sick kid or go to an ultrasound, it was met with sarcastic, rude comments in front of my coworkers.

There is gender diversity here, but women still face many of the challenges that they face with less progressive employers.
