Continental has made great strides over the last several years to improve flexibility for its employees. We also have female networks globally and a development program specifically for our early career females to ensure a strong start to their career with Continental.

It is extremely difficult to gain insight to potential career opportunities if you are a non-German - Networking and visibility in the company are vital for career growth.

Continental recently implemented a Flexible Work Policy, which include Telecommuting. However, some "old school" managers are not fully supportive of it.

The company has great policies and they are improving flexibility which can be important, but the compensation could be improved and you do not often see females in management/executive positions.

It's a great place to work. There's always opportunities to move and try new things. They are very open to supporting career changes, so it's not uncommon to see people with engineering background in HR, or from HR to Controlling.

I think in general we have a problem as a country with the support for maternity leave in USA. In Continental you can take a total of 12 weeks off, but out of there 1 comes out of your PTO, 5 are short term disability and 2 is what they are really offering as a paid benefit. If you want to use the other 4, then it's either PTO or unpaid.

It is truly a great company to work for. You'll always have some men/women wherever you work that are difficult to work with, but here they are few and far between. More so than work/life balance, its truly an integration of them. Most positions here can work around just about anything that pops up. If you need to work 4 hours, go to the doctor and come back 2 hours later and work another 4, it's possible! They understand that in order to do your best job possible you have to be mentally and physically healthy and you can't be when you are constantly worried about something going on at home. Telecommute days are amazing as well.

Started as a temp employee and was hired full-time. I have worked in hospitals, and other manufacturing companies and people always make up the main reason for staying with a company. Conti tries hard to support women in the manufacturing and sales realm. We work hard but are rewarded for the hard work.

Continental is moving in the right direction. There have been a lot of policy changes over the last couple of years to support women and flexible work. They are also really great programs for development and mentorship. There are still not tons of women in leadership positions, but there is a conscious effort to change this while still promoting the best person for the job regardless of sex or race.

The flexibility is great. I'm able to telecommute and be there for my kids when they're sick, have appointments or school events.
