September 2018

There is a perception that women are supposed to fit a certain mold: well put together, demure and fill a support role while men lead. There are limited opportunities for women to have their voices heard. You see very few women being promoted into Director and executive leadership roles. The work is great, however. It's an exciting place to work with bright colleagues, many of whom are generous with their time and talent. If you are a woman with a direct approach to conversation, you'll have to find a way to "tone it down" in order to be successful here - no matter your talent.

There have been recent efforts to introduce more flexible working arrangements into the office, however, it's not enough to meet the needs of 2-working-parent-households. Associates are allowed to work from home 2 days per month. Office hours are rigid with the expectation of 8-5. If you are in at 7 and try to leave at 4, you feel like you're watched/judged.

Having a female CEO like Beck is truly a game changer. Her vision, intelligence, and dedication to her employees are unlike anything else I've encountered from other leaders in my time in the workforce.

provide more promotion opportunities, improve compensation and review peer salaries vs. accountabilities. i had a staff of 15 with hundreds of dollars expensive marketing to produce on time and on budget. A male peer with 2 reports and very little fiscal accountability made $35K more than i did.

The 3G model is based on the 3G club. Even as a Brazilian, if you're not in the club you wont fly. Sure you'll run, but not fly like some "golden" people.

May 2016

RIIS is an IT consulting firm that places consultants at client locations so you are expected to be billable. Flexibility to work from home or non-business hours is based on the client's policy, but generally, you are expected to bill the client only if you are on site. The salary is competitive and so are the benefits. I would personally, rather work through RIIS than be direct hire at the company I have been placed.

October 2015

I worked at Mathnasium for over a year. You have to take a mathematics test during the application and most workers have a Bachelor's degree or working towards one. They only offered part time. Low pay even when doing 1-1 tutoring (Cost is $60/hour but you only get $10 of that). You can make more money elsewhere or doing private tutoring.

My first day back to work after my maternity leave I was expected to work 11 hours on top of pumping twice that day. They are very inconsiderate of mothers and family life outside of work. I'm currently looking for a new job, after working there for 12 years.
