Unless you have the opportunity to work at the corporate level, do not waste your time thinking you will be able to work your way from the manufacturing plant into the corporate environment. Some departments are better than others but the moral and trust in this employer is very low among the majority of employees.

This is all dependent on the department that you are working in. For example: a new summer hours policy was implemented for the company to help with "work-life" balance but it is only for corporate offices. This is a food-manufacturing corporation that pretty much makes it's bread and butter off hourly employees production, so why isn't there a summer hours policy for those who determine how black your bottom line will be at year end?. So, it clearly shows where they are placing their value for "work-life" balance which is an awful statement and message.

It's a 'boys club' culture, but good work gets recognized. You just have to be louder than usual to get noticed.

January 2017

Working for the Army is much less of a male-dominated environment than it used to be and there are parts of the Army where women have now served alongside men as equals for over 25 years. Past limitations are being ripped up by a new generation of inspirational women who are competing with men, and being promoted when they deserve to be. It can be a tough life, but you expect that from military service. Difficulties come with parenthood, especially for people who are married to other serving personnel or single parents, as the requirement to be deployable on exercise and operations overseas can be inflexible, but that's the job - it would be pointless joining the Army if that wasn't what you wanted to do. Plenty of women are now making it work.

August 2016

There are smart, talented people here, and women in leadership that are willing to mentor and advise upcoming talent. There is considerable flexibility that allows working from home when needed, working "split shifts," etc. However, there are not enough resources for the workload (many end up working nights/weekends to get everything done), and the pay/benefits are not competitive.

You will likely only get ahead if you are in one of the studios that are viewed as the most important with the studio head who actually tries to mentor and grow their team. There are only two and you don't get to pick where you are put.
