The overall culture is dysfunctional and it seems that upper management is either clueless or intentionally looking the other way. Promotions are based solely on seniority in the past so there are people in positions that aren't the best for the job. Combine that with not wanting to improve processes, there is a lot of resentment across teams and pressure just to get things done, rather than put out a quality product.

Do not expect to recieve fair treatment as ypur male couter parts. Do not expect to obtain fair treatment for anything unless your spouse is in leadership or you have a political connection. You can advance through the partnership even if your creditials are nonexistent.

As a young employee starting my career men and women were treated equally and fairly. I was incredibly fortunate to be mentored by other incredible women, but as you move up the ranks this becomes more difficult.

Review for New York/ New Jersey RBC CM finance office - Good company, quite conservative and therefore stable. It is mostly male dominated in management roles and it's quite hard to get promoted (for everyone, not just women) as the departmen is management heavy. There is no good career guidance. However, you start with 4 weeks of paid time off (vacation & sick leave) and 3 floaters (holidays that fall on working days). After 2 years with the company you receive additional 4 days off. Current maternity leave is 3 months which, sadly, in the United States is considered great. There is also paternity time allowed but not sure how many days. Lots of nice people work at RBC CM.

We've had several women take leave during my time here, but all of it was by using built up Paid Time Off and unpaid leave. Flexibility varies significantly based on seniority. Men take anywhere from 0-6 weeks off for paternity (also all PTO or unpaid)
