Fifth Third has good maternity benefits, and the concierge service is extremely helpful - they will do most anything for you - getting cars serviced, shopping for gifts, etc.

Be prepared to hear a lot about flexibility and how flexible the bank can be and think that means flexible hours and location, etc., but for it really to mean you can leave an hour early for your child's doctor's appointments without having to take vacation time.

I have been with this company for 4 years, and I have seen women in all sorts of roles, but it does seem to be a boys club. I am not even sure if the men in the power positions realize they are doing it when they do it. They are also taking away the positions that were usually filled by women.

They will tell you one thing to get you to take the job and then you find out the schedule is very different once you start work there. They work you 6 days a week, 4 full days & 2 part time. Only having 1 day off a week is exhausting for a mother of a special needs child.

Portfolio Manager
Commercial Real Estate

Know where your salary falls in the salary range provided for each position. Salary is supposed to be determined by your performance rating within that salary range; however, you need to ask/verify with your manager. The company is flexible with working remotely arrangements for anyone in a position where it is difficult to drive into the office daily. This doesn't apply to branch/retail employees.
