The STRIDE initiative is a real asset and I think the company has a good CSR policy. They are also committed to training and developing staff which is excellent. You need to be confident in what you want and push for that, there is a sense that flexible policies are more in name than in practice. Women are in leadership positions and this is encouraging.

UW is pretty good as far as flexibility and promoting women, but a lot depends on your particular boss.

Good work life balance - essentially a 9-5 situation, and they're totally flexible about taking time off as needed for appointments, etc.

April 2016
Parental leave could be better, though they did just implement two weeks paid for both men and women so at least that is some progress. Note that housestaff are treated very different benefit-wise than Northwestern staff. Very much depends on what program you are with and who you work with. In general, pediatrics are less family friendly and flexible, ironically.

December 2015
This is a rare woman-owned creative company, so they're all about empowering other women to succeed. But there aren't always the resources or time available to do so--there's a lack of mentoring, and things are so fast-paced that it's easy to get lost in the shuffle.
