September 2017

I look around in meetings and rarely see other women on the product engineering side. Lots of women in ops. Definitely not making strides in promoting women into leadership positions in tech.

Hope that Pres. Trump doesn't take away all the county jobs. Then our whole town will be unemployed and homeless.

The main thing that attracted me was that it is one of the only employers in town that offers paid leave, health care and retirement. Your question 13 doesn't have any choices close to describing my Human Services department.

Most leadership positions are filled by women. There's a lot of emphasis placed on mentorship and room for upward mobility.

March 2016

The Los Angeles office is still building its culture and leadership staff, so there is room for improvement for women in leadership roles. As of roday, there aren't any women in the top leadership roles (a VP just left). However, the culture is fair to women, there is a wellness room for new mothers who need to pump, and everyone is understanding of family and personal time.

    8 paid / unpaid

The maternity leave here is surprisingly not great. It is only 10 days. You can add up to additional 6 weeks thanks to a paid disability claim. You can also add on all of your PTO (or borrow days you will accrue for that year), but then you're stuck with not having any vacation days for the rest of the year when you return.

May 2015

I've worked here for 4 years across 2 offices and multiple sectors/industries. I believe that McKinsey is truly committed to creating an environment where everyone can succeed and thrive, including women. There are numerous programs that have been designed with flexibility in mind (these are open to both men and women) and the number of these programs has grown substantially since I joined the company. While consulting remains male dominated, there are certainly female role models and many male roles models and sponsors as well. One of my favorite "women friendly" things about McKinsey is our evaluation system, which I think takes a significant amount of bias out of reviews.
