There are very few women with outside sales roles, making this a truely good ole boys club. There is no work life balance for women or men. You will lose lots of time with family because of the significant amount of travel. I had a major health issue and was let go while on medical leave.

Men and women are treated very differently and paid less
I've worked here for over 10 years. I've worked on predominately male teams and on predominately female teams and have never felt a difference in fairness, respect, advancement, etc. Coming back from maternity leave I felt supported as I began to navigate between being an employee and being a new mom.
Most managers have a very flexible approach to their employees. If you are a top performer and get your work done the timing and the location of that work is less important.

Review for GE Healthcare
I have been with this company for many years. It has definately progressed to a family oriented company. I would share with other women that it is a male dominated company and you need to stay on your game to gain the respect that you will need to get past some of the "boys club" types that are still lingering.
I haven't taken maternity leave, but I have taken sick leave, for a couple surgeries. Of the leaves, only one was disastrous, and caused me to lose a promotion, but I had to understand that the company needed someone in the position and I wasn't ready to return to work. Otherwise, the stress I chose to take on, seemed to be unnecessary. I realize after all these years, to never burn bridges, always try to network, and keep your eyes open to opportunities in new and emerging fields.
