Very flexible in their personal time but aren't realistic about the amount of additional hours you need to work, it's expected to work more than your 100% target but not get paid for that time or receive any flex time.

Maybe. I really enjoy the work that I do and the projects but I don't enjoy the expectation to work more hours without getting paid or compensated in any way for them.

Now they increased the # id weeks. I believe it's 16, plus 5 weeks of short term disability. I used PTO to get to 16, between Leave and SD was about 13.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Great opportunities for women, equal pay, excellent parental leave, great support during pregnancy/when coming back to work with young baby. Also, many women at the highest levels leadership (overall US CEO and Consulting CEO are women!!). However, the job requires long hours and frequent travel, so not for everyone.

My colleagues and mentors were extremely supportive leading up to, during, and after my maternity leave. Upon my return, I felt comfortable approaching leadership about more flexibility and have always felt that the firm supports me in my decisions as a professional and a mother.

Working closely with leadership, I KNOW that work-life balance, parental leave, and flexible time off policies are important to them. It may not happen overnight and a lot of visibility has yet to be seen since it's still in the planning stages, but West Monroe Partners truly has its employees interests at heart.

The model is supposed to be about employee/consultant choice, but it doesn't work out that way. Consultants are paid based on client billable hours. The only way to earn your full salary is to do client billable work for 2,000 hours per year.

Micromanagement is unbelieveably high - to the point of the CEO walking through the office to make sure that everyone is at thier desk with thier computer on by 8:30 sharp, and still at thier desk with the computer on at 5:30 sharp. If there is a natural disaster, and you are unable to get into the office - there goes one of your vacation days! And you only get 10 days off (sick and vacation combined) so losing one due to circumstances way beyond your control is huge. And, working from home is counted as a day off - because apparently adults cannot be trusted to work from home.
