"I have not experienced overt discrimination here, but there is a serious lack of women in senior leadership positions, and no concerted effort to hire, develop, and promote women in the organization. A new position was created to lead DEI in July 2020, and analysis of our current state revealed that we were "on-par or better" than the rest of the industry, except for women in equity eligible roles. When I have asked about our DEI initiatives and progress, the best I've gotten is that hiring managers all took some unconscious bias course. Except they didn't.
I will say that there is more racial/ethnic diversity than any other insurance company I've seen, specifically in my business unit."

"My manager is new, and he has been really great so far. The culture in my department is toxic and chaotic, and he immediately began addressing issues. He is honest, candid and emotionally intelligent. That said, there is only so much that can be done when his boss (his friend and former colleague) is just an obstinate, petty, spiteful person. "
