"Culture is very misogynistic; inappropriate jokes are made at all staff meetings and one-on-one. It seems like the culture has been this way for a long time, and while some management is trying to change, many are totally ingrained in "old boys clubs" ways of thinking. It's going to be a long time before things are better."

"If you are a physician or resident, you are set. You get variable paid medical leave. If you are a nurse, nurse practitioner, or any other role, you get only your saved vacation time and unpaid FMLA. You can purchase your own short term disability but that comes with challenges as well. There are more and more women in leadership these days so I think it could get better if they make their employees' life work balance and job satisfaction a priority."

"There are a lot of women in the dept so there should be a lot of bargaining power, but the dept chief doesnt work with people to improve their situation. There is a lot of "that is HR policy and I dont have the authority". BUT I believe it would only take a few pushes to make admin realize they need to reevalute"
