October 2017

Salesforce is a great company, and they are making great efforts to drive a flexible and equitable culture. However, the experience varies from department to department and the amount of hours required to get recognition or keep up with the constantly changing environment can put a strain on your wellness and work/life balance. I do believe that leadership tries to drive a flexible, equitable culture; figuring out how to permeate this down through the management chains are the next step.

It's not a 5 because I think the flexibility varies from department to department. While my experience has been great and would be a 5, I have colleagues in other departments that are not able to work from home or have been struggling with being able to take time away for personal issues.

Your day-to-day work experience depends on your department or division head. Most senior leadership members are supportive of family-friendly work schedules and working parents, and managers will work with you to develop a professional development plan that helps you progress in skills and increased responsibilities. Policies like paid paternity/maternity leave are generous.

There was flexibility for dropping off and picking up kids. However, there was often guilt from my supervisor that accompanied it.

Every day is an adventure, and you are proud of your accomplishments once a project is completed. However, the lack of monetary compensation will make it difficult to make ends meet in the long run.

May 2016

Culturally, the gender tempature is neautral. Women and men are treated, for the most part, equally. I would say they do tend to favor men with promotions and compensation.

Maternity leave is seen as a glorified vacation by the executive team. You must take all vacation you have (10 days are standard) then let short term disability pick up the rest of your maternity leave.
