Work only part time minimally. There are better retail opportunities out there. I do not see it a good fit for working moms.

I have only been there 2 months. Compared to my experience at my former employer and others over the years; this experience had been hard and I am looking for a better opportunity.

Improve in these areas. If there were some improvements in operational changes. Tools for replenishment, better inventory control, staffing is low for volume of merchandise, breaks are at Bear minimum and management dismisses all suggested improvements.

The level of support and flexibility you'll get here depends largely on your supervisor, but there's opportunity to effect change.

If you're in management, there's flexibility. If you're an hourly worker, that becomes harder.

For hourly employees, it's a short-term disability plan. For salaried employees, it's salary continuation (the equivalent of short term disability), but you'll need to ask HR about salary continuation. They no longer include the policy in the employee handbook.

Make sure your career path and promotion plan is mapped out before you start. Getting compensated fairly and promotions are very arbitrary, and often mainly related to who you know and who vouches for you.

There is not much work-life balance and burnout happens much sooner rather than later. Great experience, however, it is a tough place to work and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone.
