While I can only speak to my department, people are very understanding of family emergencies, flexible time and childcare. You’re able to do what you need to do as long as your work is done.

There is a very defined line between the men and women here, it is an old school business. Either understand and accept that or this company isn't for you.

Don't be afraid to ask your male colleagues about their pay grades. You might be unpleasantly surprised.

It depends on the team that you work in. I work in a team dominated by males and does not consider women at all

Despite being run by women, they seem to treate male employees differently and with more "esteem". Generally do not treat any employee very well.

March 2016
All executives at men and some do not treat woman equally. There have been a ton of leadership changes over the years. The company started with a female CEO but now leadership is saturated with males. Company has worked on trying to put in processes/procedures to help employee engagement but there are too many unknowns with where the company is going. I don't think new leadership cares about the employees and just looking to make a buck. Company pays for STD so maternity leave is 5 weeks paid at 60%

December 2015
I worked for Holland America Line for a little over three years and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I started in customer service making guest reservations and was able to move up to the loyalty department. There was a mix of women and men in management positions, I will say that having your college degree makes a big difference for advancement in my experience.
