They'll accommodate you within reason if you have to leave to take care of a sick kid or go to appointments. They'll also work with you to have later/earlier hours in positions where it makes sense.

It's not paid, but HR is very flexible with the amount of time you take off. I was told I could take as much or as little as I needed and given lots of information on the process and paperwork, etc. They made it very easy both times I took leave.

Everything about working here depends on your department within the university. There is a lot of ad hoc flexibility, but your supervisor has to support it.

January 2016

The HR department is predominately women with a male Partner. There is a lot of flexibility and support for the leadership team; however, this support and flexibility is not shared with other team members. In addition, there is no advancement opportunities due to the size of the firm. Someone has to leave in order for you to advance.
