    Maybe. Most of the financial advisers at NM are male and it is a culture and system that has been created to help men become successful. Feedback is mainly given around numbers and men like to parade their numbers around. As a female, you will often be asked whose assistant you are and there is an assumption that you are not an adviser. It can also be lonely when you find yourself the only female in a room, which will happen more often than not. There is also no maternity leave. That being said, for the women who are able to survive, this can be an awesome career where you get to impact many people and have the potential to make a lot of money.

overall it's a good company but depending on your style of learning and family/work balance it may not be the right fit. Over the past 5 years the company has slowly moved into lean management (metrics vs personal). When interviewing be upfront with what you need and ask those difficult questions so you are not surprised.
