"Because the leadership team is comprised of nearly entirely men, they can be a little patronizing at times. That being said, I worked hard and was provided new opportunities as a hard worker, regardless of my sex, and on the whole, Nova does seem to reward hard work. I think your ability to grow within the organization depends significantly on your direct manager, so consider carefully and interview critically with that person before deciding whether or not the opportunity is right for you. If you have children, the organization is understanding and generally pretty accommodating, but if you are single, there are far fewer accommodations. Because they are old school in nature, family needs do take a priority (regardless if you are a mother or a father) and there is even a scholarship fund for children of Nova employees to apply for college. I think if you're an older employee who is looking for a stable work environment and not tons of growth, it's a good place to work. If you're starting out and hoping to expand your career, it may not be the place for you forever. It's a great stepping stone though, for those wanting to grow for a while and then move on to greener pastures. "

"My department was very flexible with work from home and just in general, allowing flexibility for life's many complications. On the whole, I don't think the organization is very flexible with people. When COVID hit, the company was very reticent to let people work from home, despite many of the employees being fully capable of performing their duties from the safety of home. In general, the company is very old school in its mentality of working from home. The entire leadership team is a bunch of old men (I would say white but there was one Korean man), and they lead like a bunch of old men. In my opinion, it will take the top team to retire before fundamental changes will happen in organizational culture."

"I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you get 6 weeks at 60 or 80% of your pay, and you can take an additional 6 weeks on Short Term Leave, depending on complications. The first week is also always earned time off, prior to maternity leave. "
