This is the ultimate place to work if you want to do something meaningful, learn about yourself and the world as you do it, and be surrounded by a group of intelligent, inspired individuals.

Health insurance isn't great for families. Jobs are meh, but work life balance is decent. More junior people are rarely promoted. Job is good for stability but not much else. Most people are nice, but when there are bullies sometimes they are not kept in check.

Very family friendly policies. Demanding nature of work can make it difficult to capitalize in flexibility, etc.

This is a very family friendly work enviroment, however a lot of that is at managers' discretion. Their maternity leave is excellent, but also driven by local laws. it helps that the pto policy is so generous bc you can use that time to avoid not getting paid during maternity leave

Everything depends on your manager. Some are much better than others. While they are working to be more equal and diverse, the right manager makes all the difference.

January 2016

There are very few women in leadership positions. Work/life balance can get pretty bad depending on what department you're working for. Basically they get as much out of their employees as they can while paying them as little as possible. There is a bias against younger employees, particularly young women.

Since it's a software company, at least they are considerate if you need to stay at home one day to take care of family and work "remote".

Women are well represented in senior editorial roles, but as in most STEM publishing operations, executive staff tends to be male-dominated.
