October 2018

This employer is run by a phenomenal woman that is understanding and dedicated to her staff; however, politics unfortunately dictate some of the meta-culture.

The company is small so may not qualify for state benefits programs, expensive benefits that overall aren't that great, pay may not be comparable to similar positions due to company size thus minimal raises

Great benefits, but most people are overworked and stressed. Once you see how many hours you're working your salary isn't that great.

January 2017

Working for the Army is much less of a male-dominated environment than it used to be and there are parts of the Army where women have now served alongside men as equals for over 25 years. Past limitations are being ripped up by a new generation of inspirational women who are competing with men, and being promoted when they deserve to be. It can be a tough life, but you expect that from military service. Difficulties come with parenthood, especially for people who are married to other serving personnel or single parents, as the requirement to be deployable on exercise and operations overseas can be inflexible, but that's the job - it would be pointless joining the Army if that wasn't what you wanted to do. Plenty of women are now making it work.

January 2016

This is a typical local government job - morale and policies are influenced by the current political atmosphere, and there's a policy written for everything. This is good and bad - the same standards apply to everyone, but there's no room for flexible arrangements I read about elsewhere.
