I've worked here for almost 3 years. We do contract work for the federal government. I believe women are treated fairly within the company, but I don't think management cares about the staff (women or men). I have learned so much from my team that it has kept me in place until our contract ends this spring.

Already stated my opinion on this topic under the earlier question. While my input is based on my experience in a single department, for less than a year, I found that lower level employees were mainly young, just out of college and HAD TO work long hours (in the office and then from home) under great pressure. Taking time off had consequences not only for the individual employee, but for a whole group whose members had to cover for each other - meaning, if one was out for a day, the backup person had to COMPLETE the job functions of two people what, in some cases, was impossible. This created great stress and low moral in the department. Also, found very little effective communication between groups/departments in spite of hundreds of unnecessary e-mails each day. This signals a defensive, company-wide "just in case, just covering my basis" mentality. Very frustrating and time consuming, non value-adding activity.

It's all about the team at Charlotte Russe. If you have a team full of positive, hard working people then the work flow will be easier and more understandable. If you get a lazy leader on your team then you will automatically become stressed and over worn. Charlotte is NOT good about promoting within because they believe it is harder for that person to gain the next level of respect, if you want to move up within Charlotte you more than likely have to move to another location.

It's preschool teaching so the pay isn't great especially without a degree, but the staff is almost all female and highly supportive of each other. Most of the women who work there have at least one child and work there because their child can be in school while they work.
