Great place to work depending on what type of position is sought. Pace can be slow in some departments and there may be alot of sitting.

Very male, dominated, political and cut-throat environment where women are very rarely given the freedom to lead initiatives.

By far the best consulting firm to work for in terms of work life balance but consulting as such is challenging for the following reasons and it could be exacerbated for females: long hours, unpredictable travel/staffing, some teams can get fratty and overall high levels of stress dealing with demanding partners and clients.

Leadership is committed to making the consulting lifestyle work for both men and women. Plenty of programs in place for flex time, sabbatical, industry secondments etc. By far the best consulting firm to work for in terms of work life balance but consulting as such is challenging for work life balance so it's a relative scale.

Since we can work remote, we have more flexible starting/ending time but since it's client work - we are at the mercy of the client and often put in night hours to get things done. Many people have small children, even leadership so there is a understanding that there will times when you need flexibility.

There is no formal maternity plan. 6-8 weeks filing Short Term Disability and then PTO can be tacked on to remaining weeks to provide some income

Male dominated industry. Be prepared to run your own race. Great opportunity if you're keen on making a mark in the industry as you are one of few women. Non existant maternity options, not family friendly workplace.

There is definitely a pervasive "old boys club" that inadvertently puts boulders in the way of the path to success for the company and non-members of the club within the company.

I've only worked here a short time, but this agency seems to offer a better work-life balance than is usual in the industry. Also, the proportion of women to men in leadership and creative positions is better than I have experienced at other agencies.

September 2015

While there are a fair number of women at the company (though my office, which is small, consists of only me and one part-time female engineer), the upper echelons of the company are an old boys' club, and nepotism is rampant. There is only one woman in a non-corporate (i.e. engineering) management role that I'm aware of. And, as might be expected, maternity leave consists of "save up your vacation or take unpaid leave." I don't believe women are deliberately or obviously mistreated, but actions speak louder than words, and the culture says it all. That being said, the company is incredibly demanding of both men and women and quite cheap when it comes to benefits in general (just general time off, no sick days vs. vacation vs. whatever), so in most cases it is equal opportunity less-than-awesomeness.
