    this company is way behind the times wen it comes offering flex time. the hour are 8-4:30 with a 30 minute lunch. No work from home despite being in high traffic commutes. Your PTO and medical time off is closely monitored and your forced to use 1/2 days as hourly time off is not given.

    Though I did not, I was surprised to learn from a colleague that she was forced to take a 10% cut in pay when she had her baby, even though she was taking calls from students while in the hospital and was even grading papers just hours after the birth. The director of human resources told her that the paycut was required due to the fact that they believed she could not possibly work at 100%.

    Flexibility really depends on your direct supervisor. My supervisor really values flexibility and does a great job honoring it, but others aren't as lucky and have supervisors who are very inflexible with hours.
