If you are a tough chick (think Oracle/tough as nails/hard core) this might be a good place or interested in very traditional roles such as customer support and HR, SFDC is a good place. Otherwise, men rule the roost. Very few female leaders with power and fewer rising through the ranks. Marc's recent, public statements about hiring women is encouraging - but 5 years is a long time in the tech world.
Job Satisfaction Level
Some teams more open to women. Very macho and men dominated culture overall. Very few female managers in Sales or other key customer facing roles.
Very male dominated. The male managers/bosses do whatever they want and say whatever they want to women. Have no regard for the top performing women and treat them like dirt. Women are treated like dogs here, I have heard many women can stoop to sleeping with higher ups to get what/where they want
Work hard and don't wait for deals to come to you. Set your self- brand strategy from day 1. The higher up you get the more you will work with men, a lot of women I know took maternity leave, the company is extremely supportive of this and even have an internal taskforce called FemmeForce which is all about equality for women. The Enterprise team however is a lot more men-focussed and not a lot of promotions from within.
