How supportive the company will be of your career, or work-life balance will really depend on who your manager is.

February 2016
Depending on the dept you work, the work life balance is great. Normal work hours is 35hrs and ability to work remote. Management is fairly diverse but it is hard to network or move up. Everyone has been there 20 plus years so there is no room to grow within the company. Also you have to be with the "in" crowd to make it to the top. Most women tend to be in the mid-level roles for 10 plus years.

October 2015
It is tough for women in IT generally due to being in the minority, and the burden to be excellent to be placed in the first place. There is a general push to get women into management. At this time, technical leadership diversity is still lacking. There is also a large amount of inflexibility within Global Support Services for scheduling.

April 2015
Most of the top tier executives have been with the company ~ 20+ years, so changes and progress are slow. The EDA market is mature, so very little growth potential; this resulted in a significant number of senior managers with limited upward mobility. There is a relatively small circle of key management so unless you are part of the circle, career advancement can be a challenge, specifically for women in this company.
