As an automotive company, most part of the people are men. Only 10% of the manager are women, and the target to 2020 is only 16% (I consider this is not a very challenging one)

Depending on your role and department, opportunities for advancement are next to none. The review and evaluation system is unfair. You are normed against your entire department even those who have vastly different jobs than you. Norming takes place before your review so your review is adjusted so that you fit the arbitrary number that they gave you.

    I work in central office (not a teacher), so it really depends on your manager. There is no consistency. Even among the same team with the same manager.

Securian currently does not offer any work from home days (only certain departments) and they do not have a maternity leave - you get the standard 12 weeks unpaid (6 of them covered under STD at 60% pay) and if you want to take of more time you will have to use your vacation/PTO.

I'm not sure about in-store employees, but at corporate they are trying to be more family friendly and flexible. Still no paid leave, but my boss is flexible with my hours since I have kids

I worked here for 2 years, at 2 different locations. Both were very male-heavy on the management side of things, and I saw women treated like their opinions didn't matter. This unfortunately led to an overly competitive environment between women, because there were so many of us vying for so few opportunities.
