You must be a strong personality who is not afraid to speak up and ask for what you want. Those that don’t, haven’t gotten very far.

November 2017
Flexible hours to coordinate work and home life demands is really dependent on the individual supervisor. Some are great, others want you in your seat between the hours of 8 and 5. We need more leaders who can be flexible and assess performance on the outcomes rather than the visibility of the employee.

Be aware that flex time and perks like work from home Fridays are only available to a select few. It causes resentment for those who do not have it.

February 2016
I've worked here for almost 5 years and felt treated fairly until moving to the technology department. Most of the positions are filled with men and it seems that men are offered the promotions on a much higher rate than women. I have been denied promotions that men have received for doing the same or similar work I have done. Also, maternity leave is not generous and leaves a financial burden on your family - or you have to come back earlier than you'd like.

December 2015
There are around 20% professional women, including engineers and technologists working here. They are all hard working and tough; that's why we succeed, because we have to be tough to get through the prejudices embedded in this field and in this company. Executive management is male, middle management has a couple of women, same with entry level management. It's still a boys's club here. Great construction learning experience though and my coworkers have been supportive the majority of the time.

November 2015
There are a lot of women working here, but predominantly in support roles. Generally I believe they are treated fairly but management is male-dominated and not diverse, which makes it tougher for women to "network" with them.
