"I see many women in leadership roles lately. The last 2 years has brought massive change. Things never before possible (due to stagnant thinking) are now a daily event.
Last year management had zero desire to grow existing employees to openings. Suddenly it's the focus and beautiful to behold!
It's like someone kicked all our outdated thinking gates open! "

"I work in HQ which has a very different culture then our retail stores. The pandemic has also pushed Sherwin-Williams HQ to accelerate their time frame for introducing more modern policies. They formalized flextime allowing for a range of working hours (9-3 are core hours) and work from home (permanent 2 days a week, additional per manager/department discretion). Although currently the C-suite is primarily men, their are a lot of women in VP and director positions just below C-suite. I have no doubt in the next 5-10 years there will be many more women in C-suite positions, maybe even a female CEO.
My department is extremely working mom friendly with many people using flextime to start early and leave early to be home for the bus or vice versa. Work from home as needed for school closures, kids sick days, etc. is very accepted if not expected. The corporate maternity leave policy allows for 100% pay short term disability (6 or 8 weeks) plus an additional 2 weeks paid, its not industry leading but it better then nothing and far better then most in America. At HQ there is also a luxury pumping room with lockers, fridges and sinks.

"This company cares very little about your life outside of the company. If you are a store manager or assistant manager they expect you to work crazy hours. If you are a parent I would especially discourage you from working here. Their benefits are not competitive whatsoever. "

"As a single woman I felt as thought there was plenty of freedom. But now being a wife and a mother the work life balance is more difficult in a store management role. Work life balance only exists for sales representatives, district leadership and above. "
