Thomson Reuters has done a lot within the last 10 years to encourage women in the workplace. They have strengthened the maternity leave policy, engaged in cultural partnership activities around gender partnership, women in tech and the quiet revolution. They have been vocal about their commitment to women in the workplace and I believe our CEO Jim Smith is fully committed to this activity.

Our BRG, Women@TR, is not only supported by the women of TR, but many of the men as well. Thomson Reuters is not perfect. There are certainly dinosaurs that have held on to outdated views and certain departments that do not display the culture as well as others, but our leaders push the message. The momentum is in the right direction!

A women reporting to me had her first child in 2017. She was able to take 6 months leave (3 months paid) and when she returned, she was interested in a modified schedule. I was able to approve for her to work 3 days a week and provide the work/life balance that works for her family.
