Women's Job Satisfaction (5=very satisfied)

Thomson Reuters places a lot of trust in its employees. I feel that my manager respects my intelligence and my input. I am never disregarded, talked over, or controlled. I have a lot of agency. I have a lot of freedom. I feel strongly committed to my team. I believe that I make a difference. As a result, I want to help the company be even more successful than it already is. I have never felt personally invested in the success of my employer before, but the way that TR treats me (and I happen to be a woman), gives me this sense of dedication, which is very fulfilling. I also appreciate that the senior women in the company do NOT have that demoralizing 'chip-on-my-shoulder' embittered quality that I have encountered from so many higher-level women during my career as a young professional. (They had it hard it must be hard for me.) Instead I feel inspired and mentored. A+ all the way.

Thomson Reuters is a unique business, in that they have aquired several businesses over the years, making it exceptionally more difficult to create a desired culture in a highly matrixed and global organization. However, the idea the leaders are making moves, while also growing themselves, says a lot about the people and the type of company they are [and who they want to be]

I would rate TR a 4, but there are many times when work life balance is claimed but then you are treated differently for having needed time off for family. I see this as an issue whether you're male or female.

Continue to encourage men in executive level leadership roles to mentor and get to know their female peers from a different perspective than their own.

I think as women at TR, we are extremely lucky to have the flexibility we all enjoy, from maternity leave to flexible working hours, you are treated as an individual first and employee second which is not like many of the companies friends work at.

The company has degraded significantly in recent years, using routine lay-offs to keep the figures high with shareholders while compromising trust with employees. It is a regular and reoccurring practice to eliminate positions and lay off individuals, rehiring them at less and recreating the position after 2 years.
