  • Took Maternity Leave Here? (Weeks)

    8 paid / unpaid

The maternity leave process was very frustrating and 8 weeks is NOT enough

  • One Thing Employer Could Improve

Improve work-life balance and policies (e.g. flex-time, limit face time)

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Maternity leave is awful in comparison to other companies nearby HQ and work from home/flex time would be helpful for those with small children

As a female who has worked at this company 5+ years, I would recommend Toyota to any of my family or friends. Our culture is built on respect for people and that's shown in our culture and all the benefits offered.

Overall, great place to work. I and a few other co-workers who were allowed to work part-time while their children were young. There always could be more women in leadership positions but this company has quite a bit more than the norm.

The hours can be long and there are night meetings with Japan. The company is new to flexible work arrangements, and feasibility to do a flex work week is highly dependent on which job function you are in.

They provide a quiet room for nursing moms! There are a good amount of female leadership as well in the company.

Depending on the manager you worked for, I was lucky that my manager allows me to change to 32 hour work week and some work at home time. However, this is not happening across the board.

Toyota is an awesome place to work, and is great for interns. I was surprised by how many female engineers were in the department where I worked. Everybody was respectful, and I never felt like I wasn't an equal. I worked in the D.C. office, and I definitely recommend Toyota for anybody looking for a valuable, fun, and amazing internship experience.
