Be careful going to Nest. The highest level female in the company is only there for her personal brand, will sabotage your performance and career path if you are too successful and only keeps people around her that are work horses that will hide in the shadows. She will also make you work late nights and weekends with no regard for your personal life or family.

Evaluate leadership team. A few individuals are more about their own personal brand than the success of the company or the employees. A few high ego, horrendous managers at the executive level.

Beginning as a company developed by 3 men, this company has come a long way and values creativity and ingenuity, regardless of if that comes from men or women. I felt heard and valuable in my role.

They like to hire PRN (as needed) and will tell you that it allows you flexibility. In reality, you will be working 40 hrs without any benefits-including paid time off or sick days.

Great working environment and decent policies given the size of the organization, but there is room for improvement with maternity leave.

January 2017

It's a good place to work at if you are looking to work and need income. You can switch to another department after you have been working there for 6 months. So you definitely have a chance to go up the ladder. It's fun and exciting environment and you interact with so many individuals. If you are driven, people friendly, and have a get up and go attitude this would be the perfect job setting for you. To sum it up I'll say this it's not the best job in the world but then again, it's not the worst job either.

As is typical of Silicon Valley, limited number of women in leadership roles. A few strong female leaders who are trying to improve culture and possibly policy. Being a woman won't hold you back here, but you may struggle to find mentorship, especially with other women.
