Women's Job Satisfaction (5=very satisfied)

It's taken me 4 years to get promoted to assistant store manager. This is a great progression but only because I've worked mostly 10 hour days, came in on days off, made sure mine and others duties are done when they fail to do it just to keep the store looking good. I've worked 6 shifts in a row because others haphazardly called in (managers, even store managers) and nobody would be there to cover the store to stay open. I got nothing in return. Nothing. My store manager never says thank you for all my over and above work habits. Get to where you are now, but now just ride the wave. Relax. Let it come to you. IF it doesn't, move on.

Maybe. Only if you do not have any aspirations past Shift Lead. IF you do, you will be worked hard and asked to do the over and above until you're almost ready to quit then they promote or move you.

you can only do what is humanly possible. and if you are in pharmacy, just do what you can at a pace that is safe. too much multitasking leads to errors. people will wait 45 minutes for a pizza but not 15 for medication. so take your time, do it right and shake it off!

As with most jobs, you get what you put into the company. Women are treated fairly with Walgreens.

This company is always in need of people willing to start at just above minimum wage. They used to be competitive with their main competitor, but now the competitor pays a dollar more per hour to start. Due to their low rate of pay, and the workload they ask for, they will hire anyone who has average intelligence. They had better get back to being a secure reliable employer instead of cutting costs and trying to become competitive with big box stores- this is not walgreens strength. If its not broken, please dont fix it. Treat your employees as well as you ask them to treat your customers.

I think women are treated fairly. Many are promoted to managerial positions. However, I would advise to be careful about gossiping because somehow, somebody knows somebody who knows somebody.

My experience with this store as a woman has been fair. Working under a female manager, everyone was given equal opportunity to succeed in any position. However, when I worked under a male manager, he would only hire women for Cosmetics, and only hire men for Photo. He would not allow any women to learn Photo.
