Is self-employment a good idea to merge my business with a corporate company as an experienced businesswoman going in the healthcare industry?
It's summer and flip-flops are back. I find them irritating - they distract my focus from work. I can't help but wonder if it's just my outdated thinking. Or perhaps my hearing which is exceptionally good. Does anyone else feel this way about flip-flops? I've come to dread them. I'm in technology - a relaxed environment. I found flip flops that make hardly any noise at all. (Sole brand) On the rare occasion I opt to wear them to work, I'm careful to walk in such a way even that tiny bit of noise isn't made. To that point, heavy walkers that "barrel through" are much louder than the rest, regardless of the shoe type. Maybe if people could just be aware it would help.
I'm planning to have a baby and, as an accountant, am accustomed to putting in Saturday hours (we all do during tax season). Once I start a family, though, I'd reeeally rather not work weekends... should I just suck it up and accept it as part of my career choice, or try to have a conversation with my boss? Any tips?
I am interviewing for a new job. Should I reveal that I have a 20-month old at home? Or is it better to keep it to myself until after the process?
My employment history is all over the map but I love helping people (low volume, low stress). Current job is in tech with about 20 people and only 3 other women: I need to change fields but don't know how, given my accommodation needs. Usually I suffer in silence for 1-2 years and quit. Not sure what the diagnosis changes. Help!
