I’m at a loss for what to do.
I love the technical discipline I’m in but am stuck reporting to a manager who frustrates the heck out of me and who is ineffective at hiring and resource planning. This made it difficult for me when I gave birth during the pandemic and was anemic after an emergency c section. I’d like to grow our family but am having issues thinking about going through it again reporting to that individual because my job requires travel and I don’t think I’m going to get support I need.
I applied for another job internally and am a very good candidate based on my interview and continued conversations with the technical lead who was on the panel.
The job would be a dream (more pay, a hiring manager and team set up more balanced, and a job in an area I’m passionate about). The downside is relocation and unknown with my spouses job and leaving both sets of parents and family where we currently live.
any ideas on how I can talk to management to improve my situation?
im not sure how to professionally communicate my issues with someone in my org so I don’t have to move on to get away from the team I’m currently on.
I like my company, it’s ineneffective management from a resource and compensation standpoint I believe that bothers me most.
