    Position summary

    Lead Physician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

    • Co-Leading Occupational Medicine programs and services within the Global Medical and Clinical Affairs organization.
    • Co-Leading Occupational Health professionals and supporting health care business units globally.
    • Contributing to global oversight for required and regulated programs such as medical surveillance, pre-placement evaluations, respirator medical evaluations, noise/hearing conservation, and data maintenance and analytics.
    • Contribute to planning for and implementation of responses to public health emergencies such as pandemics, infectious disease outbreaks, or natural disasters.
    • Work cross functionally with Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Global Safety, Human Resources and Legal to ensure safe working conditions and compliance.
    • Perform risk assessments in collaboration with Toxicology to ensure product safety.

    Your Skills and Expertise  
    To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
    • Master of Public Health (MPH) degree or equivalent in process
    • Board Eligible in Occupational Medicine
    • Three (3) years of clinical medicine experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
    • Valid unrestricted https://U.S. Medical License (with the ability to obtain a Minnesota and/or additional state licenses)
    • Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number Certificate of Registration

    Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

    • Board Certification in Occupational Medicine
    • Board Certification in additional medical specialty such as Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Lifestyle Medicine.
    • Medical Review Officer Certification
    • Operational experience including and not limited to: 
    • Clinical Services: work-related injuries, chronic medical management, occupational health, travel health, credentialing, preventive services, care coordination;
    • Risk Management: education, immunizations, prophylaxis;
    • Health Enhancement & Lifestyle Management: risk reduction programs;
    • Compliance and Audit: global health standards, EHS management standards (including Occupational Medicine elements); 
    • Evaluation of workplace exposure, management of complex return to work cases, and interface with regulatory agencies.
    • Skills include the ability to work in cross-functional teams, project management and strategic planning, excellent communication, and public speaking.

    Work location: Remote

    Travel: As required and as allowed by current military status.

    The expected compensation range for this position is $215,577 - $263,483, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
